Primary Reference Sources (PRS) are very similar to Building Integrated Timing Supplies (BITS), but by definition operate autonomously without the provisions for external references, such as T1, E1, or GPS . As such, they are perfect for providing timing for critical core and metro offices offering advanced network services, or lab environments.
If the installation of a GPS antenna is not a problem, the innovative CXR Larus StarSyncTM line of GPS Stratum 1 Primary Reference Sources provide the accuracy and stability of Cesium clocks, but at a MUCH lower cost.
