5700 RouteSwitchTM Monitor Unit
CXR Larus offers a selection of Automatic Protection Switch (APS) products. When applied at each end of a DS1 or E1 facility, the APS selects the normal working facility for traffic or transfers traffic to/from a protection facility.
The CXR Larus 5703 E1 RouteSwitch™ is a 1+1 E1 automatic protection single ended switch that provides cost-effective, self-healing network capabilities in the event of cable cuts, electronic failures, or node failures. Compatible with different E1 frame formats, the 5703 RouteSwitch is switch selected for the proper frame format and coding. The system accepts both AMI and HDB3 line coding. The card modules fit into the CXR Larus Model 5702-3 (19/23 inch) 12 slot shelves, or the Model 5702-11 Remote shelf, which holds two cards.
For customers that require network reporting and management capability, the 5700 RouteSwitch Monitor Unit is now available, providing a Graphical User Interface (GUI) through a HTTP web browser, TCP/IP control, and SNMP. It also provides either TTL and dry contact outputs for local shelf alarms, automatically interfacing with the normal E2A alarm structure. In addition, the RouteSwitch monitor unit has a Real Time Clock for time stamping up to two weeks of stored alarm events.
